The 16th of September is a Big deal!

Mexican Independence Day is actually in September! Not May. The battle to gain independence started in 1810. El Grito de Dolores (The Cry of Dolores) was a call to arms by the insurgents in 1810, giving the start to Mexico’s independence to liberate. On the night of the 15th, the bells are rung at midnight and there’s screams of the names of those who gave their lives for independence. Viva Mexico!

In honor of this most special day, I will be making a feast! Pozole, sopes, Flautas, enchiladas and I can’t forget the dessert!! Keep an eye out for the YouTube video! I can’t wait to get started!
